WE ARE FORTÉ

Forté, formerly known as the Sweethearts, is an a cappella group at Boston University comprised of treble voices. Since 2002, we’ve been singing together, performing at multiple events on campus and around Boston, arranging our own music, recording an album or two (check out “Sforzando” and “A Sweetheart’s Christmas” on Spotify), and generally having a good time as a close-knit group of friends! We change up our repertoire each semester to keep things fresh with songs by artists ranging from Rihanna and Billie Eilish to BENEE and Maggie Rogers.

We are a particularly unique group because of the passion each member holds for enacting positive change. Through our music, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns we work to celebrate and support under appreciated communities. We are catalysts for change within the BU a cappella community and consistently challenge ourselves and other groups by hosting diversity conferences to encourage tough conversations. We promote a space where each and every one of our members can be unapologetically themselves.
